Knowing the story behind a brand is important to VANITY TABLE when making the decision of whether or not to feature the brand on our platform.
Brands must meet our stringent standards of high performance and be of clean values. And YULIP was one of few that indeed did.
WHY VANITY TABLE
WHAT SPARKED THE IDEA BEHIND YULIP?
Hyesung Won founded YULIP when she was pregnant with Yul, her daughter. The soon to be mother had a hard time coming across lip products that were safe and clean to wear during pregnancy.
As soon as she realized her need was not only of her own but of all the body and earth conscious others out there, she took matters into her own hands.
Hyesung grasped the opportunity and actualized her idea into a brand- YULIP (with Yul, her daughter's name, and Lip, the English word).
HOW DID THE "IDEA" BECOME A REALITY?
Having worked as a PR manager in the K-beauty cosmetics industry for over a decade, Hyesung already had the expertise when it came to the “how” with her products. All she needed was a strong enough reason to quit her job and start her own brand. And that reason striked her hard when she became pregnant with YUL.
Driven by the personal conviction to create organic and chemical-free lip products, the CEO launched YULIP in 2017. The lip product aligned with her initial vision, creating a “safe” and “clean” brand. No animal byproducts were used. Chemicals and artificial dyes were out of the question.
Years have gone by and even untill this day, YULIP stays true to its convictions.
No animal tests.
No artificial fragrance.
HOW IS YULIP ACTUALIZING CLEAN VALUES?
"Clean ingredients" are both a constant and a variant with YULIP products, meaning- while YULIP consistently uses clean ingredients, the ingredients are ever changing. And with YULIP always "updating" its ingredients to improve product quality, there's 0% probability of disappointment.

- YULIP is a 1% for the Planet company and is committed to donating 1% of annual sales or salary to environmental causes.
- YULIP is an active participant in #givingback campaigns in which the brand donates its products to organizations and charity as small acts of love and support.
